Anthony Khan a.k.a. The Twilite Tone grew up in Chicago in the mid 80s and early 90s. Surrounded by the diverse range of sounds the city offered during that period, Tone embraced the abstract and the concrete, walking the line between deep house (Ron Hardy, Frankie Knuckles, Andre Hatchett, Lil Louis) and hip hop (Schoolly D, Divine Force, Sir Ibu, Ultramagnetic MCs). Khan’s production credits include a partnership with the legendary No I.D. on hip hop artist Common‘s first three albums including the classic Resurrection for which he produced two tracks including “Chapter 13 (Rich Man Vs. Poor Man).” Tone is also currently Common’s tour DJ and music director. In 2000, Tone started Great Weekend, a party which featured a genre-defying mix of DJs, musicians, and artists, and has DJed at the Mister Saturday Night and I Love Vinyl parties in NYC. He’s also currently working with major hip hop artists such as Kanye West, adding cutting-edge production styles on the hit song “Mercy” and others from the G.O.O.D. Music project Cruel Summer as well as tracks for West’s upcoming solo album.
